Update on Westin...

Yes, we have a name....Westin Kidd Hutson

thank you all for your prayers and support over the past couple of weeks. we had our appt with the high risk doctor this morning. i am still a little confused over all he had to say but overall it was a good appt and i am going to do my best to explain whats happening.

westin's measurments were proportional but small. his leg bones (which is one thing my doc was concerned about) looked good compared to the rest of his body!!!

the bright spots were all still there and this could be an indicator of a few things:

- i, some where along the way developed and infection or was around someone with a virus or infection and it was passed along to westin through me. this could be why he is measuring small. his brain and heart look okay which is a good sign that the infection hasnt spread to them. we go back in 4 weeks to measure again and make sure he is growing and that if it is an infection it hasnt spread to heart or brain. this may also be why he is measuring small.

- could be that he may have cystic fibrosis. i am going to get blood work done tomorrow and if i am positive then matthew will go get blood work done and if he is pos as well then this is a good indicator that our westin has cf. but if i am neg or matthew is neg then we can rule out cf.

- the bright spots could all go away in 4 weeks or by birth and everything be fine and the infection didnt affect anything with westin.

so we go back to my doc in 2 weeks and then the high rick doc in 4 weeks. he still didnt rule out any chromosonal issues that could be happening and said the only way to know for sure is to have an amnio done but at this point there is a 1 in 800 chance of losing our baby so i told him no on the amnio. at this point we are waiting and trusting in Gods plan for our baby boy Westin! Its A.....

BOY!!! We are super excited to be having another boy in the Hutson Family!

We were not going to find out what we were having but my ultrasound lady forgot to tell me to look away and it was pretty clear what we are having. I think she felt bad and it was kinda awkward but oh well. At first I was upset with her but then I decided this was something so silly to be getting upset about.

We then went back and saw Dr Tackitt. He has been my doctor since I was about 4mo pregnant with Colton. We love him and are so thankful he has gotten to deliver Colton Tinsley and this baby boy. (still havent totally decided on a name yet, but we are close)

As he entered the room he informed us that there were some things on the ultrasound that he "didnt like to see". Baby boys leg bones are measuring much shorter then the rest of his body and there are bright spots all throughout his bowles. These could be signs of downe syndrom. We are being sent to a high risk doctor on Thurs the 14th for another ultrasound. They want to get a closer look at the heart and other organs so they can get a better idea of whats going on with baby boy! It could be absolutly nothing at all but hopefully the ultrasound with give is a better idea.

We trust and know God is in control. His plan for this baby is so much greater then anything we could imagine. His plan is perfect! We will keep yall updated after the appt next week.
