Adventures.

We are dealing with some sickness around here. Colton was throwing up yesterday and now Tinsley is sick, not throwing up, but poor girl has had her diaper changed about 25 times today and is in a lot of pain and just pitiful.

We did have to get out and go to walmart today to get some groceries because we were to the point where our fridge and cabinets were BARE...we had 1 can of soup left and Im pretty sure that was all! ha!

Its always a crazy time taking these 4 to the store. Most of the time they are great but they do have thier moments as all kids do. Alot of the stress probably comes from me because I am constantly "herding" them together for fear of losing one or one running away. So recently I have decided that when we go to the store, shopping, out to eat...I think of it as an adventure and not a task that has to be done. Take today for instance, instead of stressing out and trying to go thru the store as fast as I could, we made a game out of it. Today Jr was the "runner/grabber" and Colton was the "shooter". Jr would run go get what I told him to in the aisle and he would pass it off to Colton who would "shoot" it in the basket. They had a great time and Tinsley thought they were halarious. And, I kept up great with them and didnt stress about losing one because they loved the game and were eagerly waiting for me to tell them the next item! It was fun and rewarding for all!! " I Spy" is another good game to play while shopping! At the end of the trip I got them some vanilla waffers to snack on. They loved that and it kept them content while I was checking out!

I love this picture of them. I forgot my sling that Westin goes in so I had him in the stroller and Jr was such a good helper pushing him around. And when he didnt want to push, I learned its a lot easier to push/pull a stroller with the cart instead of 2 carts like I have done in the past. Lesson learned! And we lost one of tinsleys shoes while shopping, luckily a lady followed me to give it to me! But by the end of the trip they were both in the diaper bag and she was shoeless!

Sunday Sweetness

Matthew left at 330am and wont be home till way past bedtime. We are missing daddy! Jr and Westin are both now sick so we stayed home from church today. All day has been filled with snuggles for my sick kids and chasing around of my well kids, a quick visit from pop and mimi, and a little ride to home depot with pops for the boys. So we have had a good day and I have actually kept the fire going all day and cleaned a little house! Tonight I gave the 3 oldest a bath to get the sick germs off! I love Coltons face in these, he is so entertaining! I had to bribe Jr to smile for me! And Tinsley just loves being able to be around her brothers. She thinks they are halarious! While they were being bathed Westin was napping peacefully!

Life...

If I told yall 2012 had been a great year so far, I would feel as though I would just be saying that to make my life seem like roses, the truth is, its been a hard year so far...for the most part we have been in a constant state of sickness around here. We have had 9 trips to the doctor, 4 trips to the ER, 1 trip to urgent care, and a 1 week stay at Scottish rite and we are only 40 days into the year. Between always having a sick kiddo, the medical bills, a house to take care of, not sick kids who go full throttle all day, meals to cook, life to live..i feel as though we just cant get ahead. Today I have just felt like a complete failure as a wife and mom. It seems as though everything just caught up with me today and I lost it. I cried a lot today. The boys would not leave each other alone and would not listen to anything I said. Tinsley started the week off with a 105 fever for 3 days then Colton got a ear infection and sinus infection along with the croup cough. Tonight Jr started running a fever and Westin has a nose that wont stop, goopy eye and a nasty cough starting. I was just done today. DONE!.... Then we were at dinner and God showed me, through my daughter, that I wasnt done and more importantly, He is not done with me. Ahhh, it feels so freeing to say that! God isnt done with me. We were sitting at the table and Tinsley was saying "dadadada" I said " Tinsley, weres dada?" she looked right at him and grined ear to ear. He waved at her and she got the biggest smile on her face and started laughing and waving at her dada as big as she could. It was the sweetest thing ever! You see, its moments like those that make this life all worth it and give me that extra bit of strength I need to get through. Being a mom is hard. It can be challenging and push me to my "breaking points" but God always shows me, usually thru my children who were driving me crazy just moments before, that He is here for me. He is my strength. He will and always does carry me through. He has blessed me with these babies who I certaintly do not deserve. You see, He is growing me everyday. He is teaching me everyday and in turn I need to be a light for my children. I need to "train them up in the way they should go..."proverbs 22:6...He is not done with me, and I am not done. He has given me the most wonderful job in all the world. I am thankful for Him teaching me and humbling me through my children! None of what I just said may have made sense to yall but It did to me and Im glad I wrote it down. I feel much better. Talking to my mom helped a lot too. Since she was just in my shoes only 26yrs ago! This cutie has started smiling a lot more, it melts my heart!
My baby girl keeps me on my toes and makes us laugh, a lot!
Found these boys on the counter eating pop tarts the other day...they keep my life interesting! Notice the pop tarts on thier heads!

Crazy Weather!

This week we have had some awesome weather, some rain too, but for the most part it has been in the 60's. We have spent lots of time outside in shorts, in Feburary. Crazy! Yesterday we had fun at the zoo with my mom, sister, sis in law, and nieces and nephews! It was soo fun! Today we are playing outside and cleaning up the yard a bit!
We are so thankful to be able to get out and play in the winter and not even worry about jackets or hats! Westin especially likes the sunshine and not being all bundled up! I think its supposed to be cooler next week and rain tomorrow so we are enjoying it while we can.
Colton has decided he doesnt want his picture taken these days, like father like son.
