Halloween 2012

We had great plans to go to our friends house and have taco soup and trick or treat around with other friends and just have fun but having kids your plans can change in the blink of an eye and you just have to roll with it.

Westin has been sick with a cold for the past few days. Today it got worse and he was running a fever with it. Not fussy at all but just sick with fever, cough, runny nose, congestion. So we decided to stay home for the evening. Not wanting to get out and spread our germs with our friends.

We did however have 3 little pumpkins who were so excited to go get some candy and yell trick or treat. So we got them all ready and went to a total of 5 houses right in our cul de sac! They were happy as can be with getting candy and only going to 5 houses.

Jr and Colton were way more excited about giving others the candy then actually getting candy themselves! It was super cute and sweet!

Here are our Captain America (which was very impromtu as he was going to be a motorcyle rider but decided at the last minute to be CA!), our chicken, our pirate Captain Jack Sparrow and our sweet princess bumble bee!

And, I have to add that we have the worlds greatest friends..we did not pay a penny for any of their costums this year. They have all been generously given to us. It is such an awesome circle of giving and God taking care of others and us.

Doctor visit

The other week we had a doctor visit for Jr's 5yr check and Tinsley's 2yr check. Taking the kids to the doctor is always an adventure.

I also had them check Colton's iron becuase he is always complaining about being tired but he sleeps great at night. Thankfully it was normal! He was checking out his bandaid!
Westin was just along for the ride. He was starting to get fussy and hungry towards the end.

Tinsley did great but was ready to go by the end. She weighed in at 25lbs. She is 50% for height and about 25% for weight. Her eye is still having issues and if I miss a day of drops then it is back and awful looking by the next morning. So we are headed back to the eye doctor.
Jr was such a trooper. He did great and was a good patient for the doctor. He weighed in at 40lbs and is 3ft 7in We eneded up having to go back to get his shots because they were out of 1 of them this day. But here he is thinking he is about to get shots. We got them last week and he was okay and talking like he was all tough until the nurse came in and he got a peak at the needles. It was all downhill from there but thankfully it was over quick. He just couldnt walk any stairs for the rest of the day. Bless his heart! :)

Tinsley is 2

I know I am way behind on blogging but my computer fried and my harddrive is done so I lost pretty much every picture of westin's first year of life :( but thanks to facebook and disk and many friends and family I think I will have plenty of pictures of our sweet boy to look back on!

On October 18th our baby girl turned 2! She is just a mess! We all love her so much. She is such a joy. She has her brothers wrapped around her sweet little finger! All she has to do is point and make a noise and they get her what she wants. She absolutly adores Jr and is always asking where he is. She misses him he is at school. Her and Colton are halarious together. She loves to aggrivate him. They have always been this way. She will grab his toys and take off running the other direction. Its funny but poor colton just screams and chases her and she just laughs so hard. She loves Westin. She will hold him for a few seconds but then she is done unless she is feeding him a bottle then she will hold him for the whole time. She is a good little momma.

She loves her baby dolls. She will hold them and take them everywhere but first she always has to take the babies clothes off. HA! She loves to follow her brothers around and do whatever they do. She sure is a tough little thing. It takes a lot for her to cry if she gets hurt. If the boys see blood they start crying but Tinsley will just look at it and then go about her buisness like nothing happened.

She is definatly a girl with her own opinion and lets you know it. Just earlier this morning I came downstairs and she was following beind me. I was feeding Westin but she was refusing to come down the stairs. She literally screamed and had big ol alligators tears for 20minutes. I got done with Westin and came to the stairs and she screamed for another 5 minutes while I tried to get her to come down on her own. I finally gave in and went and picked her up and brought her down and not another tear was cried. Like I said, shes a mess!

I love to watch Matthew with her. It is the sweetest thing ever. We always say that my dad was right when he said "I never knew how much I wanted a daughter until I got one". It is so wonderful!! We cant wait to see how her little personality gets as she starts to talk more. I think we are going to have our hands full!

For her birthday date Matthew and I took her to Chilis and target, REI, oldnavy and hobby lobby. She had the best time just wondering around. trying things on and just being an only child. She was great at running errands and just spenind time with her! It was a fun special day.

Jr turns 5

On October 14th our oldest baby turned 5 years old. Just saying the words "he is 5" makes me feel all sad but so happy. He loves saying he is 5. But for some reason the thought that he is a whole handful makes me realize just how fast the past years have gone.

Jr came 5 weeks early via emergency csection. I was in the hospital for 14days if I remember correctly. 10 on bedrest and 4 more after I had Jr. It was eventful and we should have known from the beginning he was going to be stubborn and hard headed, wanting to do things all on his own when he wanted to do them. ha!

He is the greatest big brother to all of his siblings. They love him and he loves them. Him and Colton can definatly fight hard core but the good times far out weigh the wrestling matches, bumps and bruises.  He loves to hold Westin and feed him a bottle. Westin just giggles at him. Tinsley's favorite word is Juju. She is always worried about him and where he is. "where juju? where juju?" He loves it and is so very sweet to her and likes to help her with any and everything.

I love the fact that Jr (well all of our boys) are full out boy. Loving to get dirty, wrestle, play super heros, build forts, play baseball, shoot guns, and anything else crazy. He has been sliding everywhere lately, not just baseball but literally everywhere (grocery store, church, grass...) he slides like hes sliding into home. I am having to patch pants and doctor scraped knees a lot these days! But it doesnt stop him from doing it all over again.

He is seriously so funny and loves to be the life of the party. If you start laughing at him then he will take it and run with it. He likes for people to like him. If he thinks he has upset someone or hurt someone then he shuts down. This is something we are working on with him.

I am reading a book "the strong willed child". That is Jr. He is his daddy made over. I love it but it is so challenging for me. The Lord is using Jr to teach matthew and myself a lot about us and refine us. Our prayer is that through teaching, guiding, leading Jr that he will first see Christ love in matthew and myself and then see how much we love him and want the best for him. For it is because of Chirist love for us that we yearn for our children to know that love and believe with all thier heart that God loves them. We pray every day for our children to have a heart that seeks and has a hunger for the word of God.  I believe God is already doing a work in our Jr. We are so thankful for the people God is using to show Jr just how much he is loved. Family and friends who walk along side us in raising our children in a Christ centered home.

We never want Jr to lose who he is and lose his strong personality. We do want him to learn to control it and use it for good and being helpful and not hurtful. We have seen a beautiful change in him and have watched him grow a lot in the past couple months. We are thankful for this and pray we continue to be consistant with him in all we do.

For his birthday Matthew and I took him out on a date. It was so much fun having some time with just him. In true Matthew/Jr fashion he wanted to go to the new church building and walk around. So we went to hibachi, the property, menchies, target, and then finished the night off at the north cobb football game. It was a great great day!

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY TO OUR BOY JR!

Ordination

Today my best friend, my husband Matthew was ordained. It was a beautiful ceremony full of love. We are so thankful to be a part of Cedarcrest Church and all God has done, is doing and will do. Our pastor, George, and the elders wanted to ordain Matthew and affirm his calling into the ministry. Matthew and I were incredibly humbled by this and prayed about it and felt God leading him to take this next step in the ministry. We are overcome with gratitude to our Savior as we continue on this journey He has set before us.  We are excited to see where God takes us and pray our hearts are always open to hearing Him and following where He leads.

Matthew has an incredible group of men who work with him every sunday to set up, run, and then tear down the worship area. They are not just friends but family and we love them and thier families so very much!! SOOO THANKFUL for this group!

Eye issues...

So for the past month or more Tinsley's eye has had some major issues. When it appeared I assumed it was pink eye. Took her to the doctor and he said it was conjunctivitus and put her on an antibiotic to clear it up. Well, it never cleared up. Every day it has looked differant. It has been bruised looking, swollen in all differant places, red, blood shot, tiny red bumps have surrounded her eye...it literally looks differant everyday.

We took her to the pediatric eye doctor this past Wednesday. She told us it was not allergies and was not a clogged duct and she then told us she had no clue what was wrong with her eye. She said it could be a chronic eye infection. She put her on steroid drops and told us to come back next week and she will dialate her eye and look behind it to make sure everything is okay there.

She also kept checking her lymph nodes to see if they were swollen and told us to keep a check on them. So, we have been doing the drops and her eye has only gotten worse. Tried getting in touch with the eye doctor several times today with no luck and no call back, awesome! So for now I have stopped giving her the drops.

Tonight while giving her a bath I realized that the redness is spreading to her forehead. Depending on how it looks in the morning I am going to call her pediatrcian and see what they say since the eye doc wont/hasnt call me back.

Here are some pictures of here that have been taken throughout the month. Some days its okay looking but somedays its like she got punched in the eye. Poor girl! We are praying for answers and relief for our sweet girl soon!

Random Tuesday

- I love my moby wrap, and so does the happy boy who loves to be close to his momma!
- We had a great trip to disney and I have a long post that I need to finish with lots of sweet pictures!

- I took the kids to the fair this past Friday. It was fun and crazy with lots and lots of people. All kinds of people!! A post on that soon!

- Colton likes to talk in a sweet baby voice and hug/kiss us and tell us how much he loves us and says "i wub you my sweet baby momma/dada/weapen" he only does it to us 3, and yes he calls westin weapen. I melt everytime!

- Jr got gum in his hair the other night and when we asked him how it happened he told us "i dont know, it just crawled up there and got stuck" haha! okay?!?

-Me and Tinsley got our first pair of cowboy boots last night! Daddy let us get our bday presents early so we could have them for family pics in a few weeks!

- Westin is crawling all over the place now. Still an army crawl. It is so sweet and I am pretty sure this is the way he will always crawl. He has no interest in getting up on all fours!

- Tinsley is getting so independent and loves to do everything by herself and for herself! She definatly knows what she wants and lets us know it too! She has her brothers and daddy (and maybe mommy!) wrapped around her sweet little finger. Is it a problem that everytime we ask where the princess is she points to her sweet self and smiles/laughs! OH MY!!!
